How She Grows She Sews came about

I always had a sewing machine, whether it was Nan's old one or Mum's old one, but part of me thought sewing was a chore they created to keep housewives busy when they couldn't have careers!

I used it when I absolutely had to fix something, or when I had a brilliant idea about something I wanted to wear but couldn't find it or afford to buy! And when I had my son I experimented a little more. But it just seemed cheaper and easier to buy things from the shops or online.

Then I needed a hobby. I really needed a hobby. So I got a machine and started sewing upholstery weight cushion covers and bags...on what turned out to be an embroidery machine! I didn't have a clue or care. I just kept sewing until my machine complained louder and louder. Then I got another machine, and moved to the country where you learn to appreciate growing and making. Now I sew all kinds of handbags, shopping bags, purses, backpacks, doggy coats, and accessories for our Olive Oil business. I now love it and sell at markets and via a few online stores as She Grows She Sews.
